On the 1st August, Apian opens its first solo show in Norway at NŌUA (Bodø)

Starting at 1pm on Saturday 1st August 2026, the solo exhibition A Ministry of Bees by Apian (Aladin Borioli, Mathilde Wiessing, Ellen Lapper, and Françoise Borioli) will open at NŌUA in Bodø, Norway. Apian will transform the gallery space into an immersive and playful space, unveiling its Bannkörbe project anew. Bannkörbe is a multimodal ethnography exploring a specific northern German apian technology. Spellbinding hives, in English, these hives are adorned with grotesque and eerie figures as a means to ward off the evil eye. Spatialising this research in NŌUA’s gallery, the project explores questions related to technology, bees, and magic.
